After recently announcing that it had shipped its first international trichlorosilane (TCS) delivery, SunSi Energies has advised that the first phase of the expansion for its Wendeng TCS facility in Weihai City, China is complete. The expansion increased the facility’s production capacity by 50%, or 10,000MT, to 30,000MT.

The Wendeng site is running at a production capacity near 20,000MT with its new capacity fully operational in around 45 days once the quality control processes and other procedures are finalized. The company began the expansion of its TCS plant so that it could keep up with growing customer demands and expects the Wendeng facility to be running close to 100% capacity once the added capacity is brought online.

David Natan, SunSi Energies' CEO, said, "This is the first step in our expansion plan. Our engineering team and local management did excellent work to accomplish this expansion. What is particularly encouraging is that once the new capacity comes online, we have orders to fill that capacity."

SunSi’s Wendeng plant was built to accommodate a capacity of up to 75,000MT. The company is currently pursuing funding to support a second expansion that will add another 40,000MT to the site’s production capacity and bring the plant up to its full-scale production capacity. After recently announcing that it had shipped its first international trichlorosilane (TCS) delivery, SunSi Energies has advised that the first phase of the expansion for its Wendeng TCS facility in Weihai City, China is complete.
