Following the opening of Petra Solar’s R&D facility in Jordon at the beginning of the year, Petra has this month announced the acquisition of Jordon-based EnergyFlow Consulting LLC. EnergyFlow is a full service consulting firm that provides local, cost-effective specialized software and hardware, professional consulting, engineering, high-tech field services and training to energy producers and consumers.

“Jordan fully supports the commitment to renewable leadership and economic development demonstrated by companies like Petra Solar, which advance both sustainable generation and smart grid functions,” said Amer Al Hadidi, Economic Adviser at the Royal Hashemite Court. “Petra Solar’s expertise in this region will help upgrade our power infrastructure and accelerate economic growth and job creation in the Kingdom.”

Petra Solar President and CEO, Dr. Shihab Kurans, said, “EnergyFlow Consulting is a huge asset to us as we expand our business.” It is hoped Petra’s SunWave system will transform the way solar power is produced and delivered in the Middle East, which was recently trialled on three different rooftops on Magnetic Island, Australia.

Former founder and CEO of EnergyFlow, Hisham Othman, has been appointed professional services and regional manager of Middle East and Africa by Petra. With 20 years of international experience in the solar industry, Dr. Othman will be at the forefront of orchestrating Petra Solar’s expansion in the Middle East and Africa.

Before founding EnergyFlow Consulting, Dr. Othman was a country manager and an area manager for ABB International Marketing in Jordan, where he led the growth of ABB Group in its key Middle Eastern markets.
