Sovello has introduced a new performance warranty for its PV modules, guaranteeing the modules maintain at least 85% of their rated power for their entire 25-year lifespan. The expanded guarantee is effective retroactively from October 1, and valid for all module deliveries from Sovello and its wholesalers.

The warranty now provides a linear performance guarantee with a starting point of 99% of the minimum rated power for the first year of operation and, thereafter, an annual degradation not exceeding 0.6% for the next 24 years.

Enabling this comprehensive warranty is the minimal light-induced degradation suffered by Sovello's string ribbon cells. In contrast with conventional ingot-based production processes, Sovello add relatively little oxygen to the grown wafers. This means that in comparison to most crystalline cells, Sovello’s are significantly less prone to the build-up of metal-boron-oxygen compounds and, therefore, carry a much lower risk of light-induced power loss in early operation.

Complementing this low degradation is the high durability of Sovello’s modules; every Sovello Pure Power module passes 130 performance quality tests and, on top of the aforementioned performance warranty, they are supported by a 10-year workmanship guarantee.

Sovello is showcasing its new Pure Power SV-L low voltage module at this week’s Solar Power International conference in Dallas. This latest addition to the German company’s product portfolio builds on the advantages of its predecessor, the X-Series, by helping to reduce balance-of-system costs, particularly for larger systems, through a 10% increase in module surface area.
