The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is putting out a call to all energy developers and financiers to submit their input on renewable financing terms, which will help the NREL in its effort to collect and share quantitative data in order to evaluate obstacles in the development of renewable energy projects.
NREL noted that it had made a number of improvements to its Renewable Energy Finance Tracking Initiative (REFTI) questionnaire in order to stimulate participation in the study. The questionnaire is projected to take approximately 15 minutes to complete with shorter and more focused questions. The organization plans to release biannual, versus quarterly questionnaires as well as improving the accessibility of the data through an enhanced, indexed spreadsheet.
“By sharing information through this quick, confidential questionnaire, renewable energy developers help illuminate finance trends and provide critical marketplace feedback on the importance or effectiveness of various policies and incentives,” said Mike Mendelsohn, NREL’s project manager for REFTI.
The confidential questionnaire will focus on projects financed during the first half of 2011 and is available here through August 18. NREL shares REFTI findings through free webinars and reports, which are available on the project website.
