Trina Solar’s utility-scale modules are to be used by US-based FRV AE Solar, a subsidiary of Fotowatio Renewable Ventures on a 35MW solar power plant project near Austin, Texas in the second quarter of 2011 onwards. FRV has been a previous commercial partner of Trina Solar.
"We are excited to announce our continued collaboration with FRV, a leading global solar industry player, on one of the largest solar photovoltaic projects in the United States," said Ben Hill, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Trina Solar. "We are pleased to combine our high-wattage, utility scale modules and premium service to deliver cost-effective PV solutions as we expand our strategic relationship with FRV."
Jose Benjumea, CEO of FRV, added, "Trina Solar is a strategic partner to FRV. We follow a rigorous selection process for our suppliers and Trina Solar continues to meet our standards."
Trina Solar launched a utility-scale solar module ‘TSM-PC14,’ in 2010, which was Trina Solar's most powerful module to date. The multicrystalline solar modules had expected power output targets ranging from 265 to 290 watts with cell efficiencies of up to 17.03% with modules efficiencies of up to 14.95%.
